# Turn Device On and Off

Moasure supports two turn-on methods. **Rotate** which enables turning on the device by holding it vertically and gently rotating it and a legacy **Double-Tap** method. 

Note that from July 2024, all shipped devices will be rotate to turn on only.

### Turn on Moasure by Rotating

1. Turn on your Moasure device by holding it up vertically and gently rotate it 180° back and forth 2-3 times 
2. The LED indicator will start flashing blue

### **Turn on Moasure by Double-Tapping** <a href="#turn-on-step-by-step-instructions" id="turn-on-step-by-step-instructions"></a>

To turn on your Moasure device using the **Double-Tap** method, simply follow these steps:

1. Place your device **in the palm of your hand**
2. Using your fingertip, double-tap the face of the device to turn it on

If you double tap your Moasure device too fast or too slow, you may find that it doesn't turn on. Take your time and practise – adjust the speed and force of your taps.

### **Double-Tap Sensitivity** <a href="#double-tap-sensitivity" id="double-tap-sensitivity"></a>

If you would like to change your Moasure double-tap sensitivity, please follow these steps:

1. Go to ***Settings*** within the Moasure app (tap the cog in the top-right corner of the app)
2. Go to **Account & Device Management** and tap on **Select Device**
3. Tap the **Information** icon for your listed device
4. Turn on your Moasure device so that your Moasure app can make a connection
5. Tap on **Double-Tap Sensitivity** and choose between the following settings;  Low (harder tap), Medium, High (softer tap)

### **Turn on Moasure when using Moasure STICK**

When using Moasure STICK, you can turn on Moasure without removing the device from the foam-lined housing:

1. Place the STICK down on a solid, flat surface
2. Double tap the sharp edge of Moasure (where the LED indicator is located)

### **Turn off Moasure** <a href="#turn-on-step-by-step-instructions" id="turn-on-step-by-step-instructions"></a>

By default, your Moasure device **automatically switches itself off** after 30 seconds of inactivity. However, you can adjust the device's disconnection time by following these steps:

1. Go to **Settings** within the Moasure app (tap the cog in the top-right corner of the app)
2. Tap on **Measuring Options**
3. Scroll down until you see **Moasure Device Disconnection** where you will be able to set how long you would like the Moasure device to stay awake. You can choose from 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes and 5 minutes

### Change Turn-On Method

The rotate-to-turn-on feature is available on firmware versions from v1.28 upwards – if your firmware version is v1.28 or newer but your device is set to the **Double-Tap** method, you can change to the **Rotate** method in the app by following these steps:

1\.    Go to **Settings** within the Moasure app (tap the cog in the top-right corner of the app)

2\.    Tap on **Account & Device Management**

3\.    Tap on **Device Preferences** under *Device Management*

4\.    Tap on **Firmware**

5\.    Turn on your Moasure device. The device needs to be turned on in order to make changes. Once the device is connected, you will see the device data appear on the app screen

6\.    Tap on your current *Turn on method* and change it to your preferred turn on method by toggling between the two options to suit your preference.&#x20;
