# Getting Started

If you’ve just received your Moasure device, you’re in the right place. This guide will help you get set up and begin measuring, while building confidence with the core techniques.

This short video introduces how Moasure's technology works and the key techniques you’ll use to measure accurately.

### **How Moasure's Technology Works**

Moasure devices work differently to traditional measuring tools. Traditional tools measure directly between two fixed points. Moasure ONE and Moasure 2 Series measure **as you move between points**, capturing distance and elevation changes as you go.

As you walk with your device, it continuously tracks its position and builds your measurement.\
You create each point by placing the device, then move to the next point to record the measurement.

This means you can move around a space to capture distances, areas, and shapes — even when you can’t measure in a straight line.

You don’t need to stretch a tape or maintain line of sight. Simply move from point to point, pausing briefly to confirm each position. Think of it as drawing your measurement by walking it.

With a little practice, this becomes a natural and efficient way to measure — especially for irregular or complex spaces.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.moasure.com/en/moasure-one-and-moasure-2-series/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
