# Master Placement

Place LX1 cleanly and consistently against each wall.

You do not need to place the device into corners.\
Corners are calculated automatically from each confirmed pause point (wall placement).

Your role is simple: provide clean, stable wall contact so LX1 can define each wall plane accurately.

***

### What Good Placement Looks Like

* Place LX1 flat and fully still against the wall
* Ensure the active reference point is flush with the surface
* Allow the device to settle before moving
* Confirm each pause point before continuing

Each confirmed pause point defines a wall plane.\
The transition between wall planes defines the corner.

***

### Avoid Tapping or Bouncing

Do not tap, bump, or press the device forcefully against the wall.

Sudden impacts or recoil can introduce unnecessary movement at the moment a pause point is confirmed.

Gentle, controlled placement produces the cleanest geometry.

***

### Be Consistent

Use the same reference edge as you move along a wall.

Switch edges only when required for:

* Door frames
* Window reveals
* Stairs
* Wardrobes/Closets

The LEDs and the app will indicate which point is active.

***

### Why Placement Matters

Clean placement ensures:

* Accurate wall alignment
* Reliable feature positioning
* Consistent room geometry
* Smooth shape closure

Once placement becomes natural, capturing pause points and measuring rooms feels automatic and precise.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.moasure.com/en/moasure-lx1/your-moasure-lx1-device/moasure-lx1-technique/master-placement.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
