# Prepare Moasure LX1

Before you begin measuring, take a moment to get LX1 ready for safe and comfortable use.\
These quick steps help ensure everything runs smoothly from your very first room.

***

### **Attach the Safety Strap (Recommended)**

LX1 includes a wrist strap designed to keep the device secure as you move around a room.

To attach it:

1. Feed the thin loop through the strap slot on the corner of LX1.
2. Pull the main strap through the loop to secure it.
3. Place the strap around your wrist when measuring.

Using the strap helps protect LX1 from accidental drops, particularly when working in tight spaces or quickly switching between walls.

***

### **Power On LX1**

Press either button until the LED indicators illuminate. \
Your device is now ready to connect to the Moasure app.

### **Check Battery Level**

Make sure LX1 has enough charge before starting your first measurement. You can see the battery level in the app when LX1 is powered on.

* Use the supplied USB-C cable if it needs charging.
* A steady LED pattern indicates normal charging behaviour.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.moasure.com/en/moasure-lx1/getting-started/prepare-moasure-lx1.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
