Moasure Accuracy

Learn how Moasure measures, what affects accuracy, and how to achieve the best possible results.

How Moasure Works

Moasure measures continuously while you move (device is in flight), capturing position data hundreds of times per second using advanced motion sensors.

A measurement point is only confirmed when the device is placed completely still.


How Accuracy Works

With motion-based measuring:

Error increases with time, not distance.

This means:

  • The longer you move without pausing, the more error can build

  • Regular pauses help maintain accuracy

  • Smooth, controlled movement improves results


What Affects Accuracy

Accuracy is influenced by how the device is used:

  • Movement speed and consistency

  • How well the device is placed and held still

  • Frequency of pause points

  • Surface stability (e.g. soft or uneven ground)

Imperial Examples (Moasure 2 PRO)

  • If your linear distance measurement totals 300ft, accuracy is within ±0.3%, resulting in a potential error of up to 0.9ft.

  • If your perimeter measurement totals 300ft, accuracy is within ±0.5%, resulting in a potential error of up to 1.5ft.

  • If your elevation measurement totals 300ft, accuracy is within ±0.3%, resulting in a potential error of up to 0.9ft.

  • If your area measurement totals 300ft², accuracy is within ±1%, resulting in a potential error of up to 3ft².

  • If your volume measurement totals 300ft³, accuracy is within ±1.5%, resulting in a potential error of up to 4.5ft³.

  • If your layout measurement totals 300ft, accuracy is within ±1%, resulting in a potential error of up to 3.0ft.

How to Improve Accuracy

To achieve the best results, focus on these three key Measuring Techniques:

Pace Move at a steady, controlled speed between pause points.

Placement Place the device down flat and completely still.

Rotation Rotate smoothly and avoid sudden movements.


Check Your Accuracy

After completing a measurement, review your Start/Finish error:

  • Lower percentage = higher accuracy

  • Aim for under 1% where possible
