# Grid Format

{% hint style="info" %}
In app version 3.0 or newer, grids are available on all views, and are to scale in 2D views (2D Plan View, 2D Fit View and Contour View).
{% endhint %}

### How to Customise the 2D Grid:

1. Open **Settings** by tapping the **cog** icon.
2. Tap **Display Options**.
3. Tap **Grid Format (2D)**.
4. Choose your preferred grid type:
   1. No Grid
   2. Ground Plane (No Scale)
   3. Major Lines
   4. Major and Minor Lines
5. A green tick will appear alongside your chosen grid type.
6. Tap on the **back arrow** in the top-left corner until you return to the canvas.

The Grid Options enhance the visualisation and usability of measurements, providing a quick reference to the actual size of the measured area. This feature is useful for users needing a precise visual indication of scale within their measurement environment.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.moasure.com/en/moasure-1-and-2-series/settings/display-options/grid-format.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
