# Change Device Disconnection Time

Choose how long the Moasure device remains connected before automatically switching off when not measuring.

By default, a powered-on Moasure device that is not actively measuring will turn off after approximately one minute to help preserve battery life.

### Change the disconnection time

1. Open **Settings** by tapping the cog icon in the bottom-right corner.
2. Tap **Measuring Options**.
3. Tap **Moasure Device Disconnection**.
4. Select your preferred timeout:

* **30 seconds**
* **1 minute**
* **2 minutes**
* **5 minutes**

**Note:** The device remains powered on while actively measuring, regardless of this setting.
